Debut LP from new artist (to us), Skate Bush. Strangely processed vocal ditties of a seemingly personal nature. Interesting stuff!
Label text:
"Skate Bush she makes her Waaghals debut - a self titled 11 track LP.
Lisa’s bare bones approach to songwriting is both haunting and honest. Across 20 minutes distortions ebb and flow, revealing skeletal and intimate songs with depth and range. Wacked out guitars, stuttering bass and cheap organs swirl around her powerful voice, taking inspiration from both the old and the new. Think Young Marble Giants and The Raincoats but also Grouper and Joanne Robertson.
Some may know Lisa from her stint working at the Waaghals stores, some may know her as DJ Dickryder, others from her work as a visual artist."
